Naval officers

Imagen foto_00000003Owning a solid scientific and humanistic education based on moral values, Naval Officers are professionals of the sea and leaders for men and women with vocation to serve. They study for 8 years along their naval career that begins at the Naval Academy "Arturo Prat", where they receive military and academic education to become Navy Officers. Currently, the National Commission for Accreditation accredited the Navy Academy until 2018 in the Areas of Institutional Management and Education Leading to Qualified Degree.

The primary role of a Navy Officer is to take command on operational, tactic and logistical activities in accordance with his o her specialization and area of performance, and must be able to manage human, material and financial resources of the institution.

Non-commissioned officers

Imagen foto_00000002Between two or three years of technical education at the Noncommissioned Officers Academy "Alejandro Navarrete Cisterna" and, later, at the Naval Polytechnic Academy, which allows our noncommissioned officers to professionally and effectively perform at operating, maintaining and repairing complex naval systems on-board; and at the logistical support in trackside activities that requires our Institution. During their career, in which they permanently attend to advance training courses from a flexible curriculum model, noncommissioned officers reach a high qualification level by having the opportunity to manage resources and to participate on combat and technical activities, depending on their specialization area, regardless of whether they are on-board or trackside.

Civilian employees

Imagen foto_00000004The Navy, aware of the relevance of having specialized personnel for different areas of knowledge, has recruited technicians and professionals to work on their own area of performance. Today, around five thousand civilians are part of the Navy and develop in several areas as health, engineering, building, hydrography, education, finances, communications, maritime area, management, laws, design, social area, and they are divided on professionals, technicians and management positions.
